We love Rupert!

We hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving.  This year was pretty low-key for us.  We stayed home, and it was my first year cooking Thanksgiving dinner.  But it turned out great, and we enjoyed three pies.  We each had to have our favorite!  Here's a little of what we've been up to.

First snow of the year!

I fell in love with Rupert over Thanksgiving weekend.  They have such fun traditions!  Friday night everybody went to the square.  And it honestly felt like straight out of a movie.  Santa came in on a fire truck, and then made his way over to the gazebo.  There was a big countdown, and then he turned on all the lights.  The square lit up, and all the surrounding streets.  It was awesome!  Then they had a big firework show.  It was so much fun!

 The next morning we had breakfast with Santa.  If you bring a toy to donate, you get into the festival of trees in the morning before they're actually open, and we got a yummy breakfast with a special visitor that we got to spend some time with.

For family night tonight it was time to bust out the gingerbread houses.  We had a blast.  I think we were all on sugar highs from munching on the decorations.  Lainee had real gingerbread this year, and Nick and I busted out the graham crackers.

Before you vote, there are some things to consider.  Nick would like you to consider his abstract trees, the fact that Santa may or may not be relieving himself, and the dead snowman on the left.

 I would like you to consider my kids playing King of the Hill, the fact that my house is shaped like an octagon, and my super sweet Christmas lights.

Obviously Lainee is the clear winner with her gum drop forest and enormous snowman.  But did we ever stand a chance against her?
