Lainee is 4!!

I can't believe Lainee is 4! Yesterday we tried to make it all about her amidst all of the baby preparations. This is the first year she's really understood and wanted to have a say in her day and the festivities. It was fun to plan with her. I took her to the Dollar Store a week ago, and she picked out party hats and plates and streamers, and everything else she felt she needed for a great party!

We started out July 18 by going to get her nails done. There is a beauty college here in town, and a manicure is only $5. She loves to have her nails done, so what better way to start they day?!?

After the nails, we took Papi to lunch and then went home to get ready for the party. This year she asked for a Barbie birthday cake. I had never made one before, but it turned out all right, and she thought it was cool. So that's what matters!
I didn't get enough pictures of the actual party. We just got so busy chatting an having fun once everybody arrived. Nick made a pinata for Lainee and the kids, and they thought it was awesome. It made it through three rounds, so everybody got plenty of turns, and it was a huge success.

So in short, that was her day. Nick made her a Barbie house that will have to be its own post. It's pretty amazing and has definitely been a hit. We are so grateful for Lainee in our lives. She is so happy and so sweet. She makes our lives better every day.
